Official Latino Film & Arts Festival: “The Fixer” is Nominated for Best Drama while in Competition for an HBO License Deal
Writer/Director Michael Schilf’s award-winning crime, thriller The Fixer is nominated for Best Drama at the 6th Annual Official Latino Film and Arts Festival November 27—30, 2020, along with 100 short films written, directed, or produced by Latinx filmmakers.
NOMINATIONS
All narrative short films accepted to Sixth Annual Official Latino Film and Arts Festival are nominated to win the 2020 Official Latino Film Festival Best Film award. All narrative short films in the Drama category are automatically nominated for Best Drama.
All Official Selections are eligible to win awards for various categories, which will be awarded live at the 2020 OLFAF Awards Ceremony. Viewers can vote for their favorite film for the Audience Award.
The Fixer — nominated in both categories — is also in competition for an HBO license agreement.
HBO LICENSING AWARDS
HBO Latino will select three films from this year’s 2020 OLFAF alumni, and offer the selected filmmakers an opportunity to have their film licensed for exhibition on the HBO distribution platforms. A license fee of $10,000 will be awarded to each of the three (3) Grand Prize winning films in accordance with HBO’s standard licensing terms and conditions.
FILM SCREENINGS
The Sixth Annual Official Latino Film and Arts Festival (OLFAF) will will run during the weekend of November 27—30, 2020. OLFAF will screen 100 short films in 12 distinct Film Blocks. All films are written, directed, or produced by Latinx Filmmakers in the U.S.A.
