Official Latino Film & Arts Festival 2020: The Fixer to Screen Online Black Friday Weekend

Special Announcement: The Fixer is an Official Selection at the 6th Annual Official Latino Film & Arts Festival, which will be a virtual festival over Black Friday Weekend, November 27-30, 2020.

Founder and Festival Director Danny Hastings created the festival in response to a lack of Latinx representation in Hollywood films and television. The Official Latino Film & Arts Festival is committed to showcase, nurture, and support emerging creative Latinx filmmakers who produce, direct, and/or write their films in the United States.

The award-winning crime, thrillerThe Fixer will be included in a lineup of 100 shorts to be screened. The creative team behind the The Fixer are proud to state that 50% of our cast are Latinx and 33% of our crew are minorities, including Latinx, African-American, Indian, Persian, Filipino, and Armenian.

Writer/Director Michael Schilf credits his wife, Letty Escobar Schilf, who juggled multiple roles on the film, including producer, production supervisor, location manager, picture car coordinator, and animal wrangler. “We couldn’t have done it without her amazing organizational skills,” he declared. “Letty was definitely our secret Latinx sauce.”
